WINEBANK Mainz
Lighting design and sound with LEICHTSINN

The lighting design for WINEBANK Mainz

LIEHT developed and implemented the lighting design and the sound concept for WINEBANK Mainz. In the former brewery cellar of the Altmünsterhof, a vaulted cellar from the 1850s, wines are stored in 296 safes. How LIEHT accompanies such a project from the lighting concept to execution is described on the lighting design page.

Technology and luminaires

Each cellar room has three LED lighting levels that can be controlled independently of one another via DALI: warm white downlights at 3000 kelvin beneath the safes, LED profiles at 4000 kelvin without UV content inside the safes, and indirect light for the vault. Above the counter hangs the LEICHTSINN pendant light, a filigree lamp with a dimmable LED light bar; special luminaires based on the LEICHTSINN floor lamp put the artworks in the spotlight. Presence detectors and a central Loxone Miniserver switch on the lighting and the SONOS multiroom system with 19 speakers as soon as someone enters a room. The LEICHTSINN pendant light is available in the LIEHT Shop in five lengths, like all of the manufactory’s dimmable pendant lights.

The trade magazines LICHT (4/2017), highlight (08/2017) and ARCHITEKTUR + KÜCHE (1/2018) reported on the project. Other projects with LEICHTSINN luminaires are Weingut Spindler in Forst and the villa on Lake Geneva.
